his exciting young sire works
well in both the purebred and club calf industries. The
males grow quickly and have great depth of body. His first
calf crop produced the Reserve Grand Champion at the North
American Junior Show, the Ohio State Grand Champion Female
and several class winners for D&D Cattle Co. & SVJ Farm. Last year, the Bobby Thomas family of
Bristol, Virginia, won Grand Champion Crossbred Steer out of 104
steers with a Tank calf, and placed 4th in the Slaughter Carcass
Data.
| Tank calves hit the ground and jump up
with great vigor and nurse quickly. They have big tops and
huge hind quarters and walk freely. The adult females are
very fertile and cycle early. This past breeding season,
D&D cattle used seven Tank heifers for recips and had 6
pregnancies using frozen embryos. Now that's fertility!
Standing at 52½ inches tall, Tank will bring down frame
size and add muscle to his offspring.
Results of the ASA Young Sire Evaluation
Heifer Breeding Project on the John Swanz Ranch in
Montana. Heifers averaged 71# and the bulls averaged
88# All were out of Angus first calf heifers and showed
great vigor and muscle.
The dam of Tank is a special
lady. She's a 1989 Circle S Buck daughter. She calves every year, flushes
every time and all the offspring sold have front pasture females or herd
bull series. She is truly one of a kind and is re-bred at 15 years of age. |
